John Harrox Primary School

Uniform

We are very proud of our school uniform which has a unifying effect and gives the children a sense of belonging. The high standard of appearance is, we believe, reflected in the quality of work and is frequently commented upon by visitors.

The uniform is as follows:

For girls:

  • Grey skirt or pinafore
  • White blouse and school tie
  • Red cardigan, V neck or crew neck school sweatshirt
  • White socks, or black or red tights
  • Dark shoes ( not trainers or boots)
  • Summer term wear – Red gingham/candy stripe dress (NB Red gingham blouses are not included in the summer wear options)

For boys:

  • Plain Grey trousers or shorts ( Not cargo style)
  • White shirt and school tie
  • Red V-neck or crew neck school sweatshirt
  • Dark shoes ( not trainers or boots)
  • Optional summer term only wear – white polo shirts

As an option girls may wear tailored grey trousers during the Autumn and Spring terms only. The style for trousers is restricted and fashion, bootleg, leggings, etc. are not allowed. (Hills of Spalding supply our approved style – please mention the school name for guidance)

P.E. Clothing:

  • Plain white T-shirts (with no buttons), or with school logo
  • Red shorts (cycle shorts are not permitted)
  • Plimsolls or trainers

There are no variations to the above.

Red shorts and T-shirts may be purchased from the office.

School ties are worn by all children and may also be purchased from the office. Both ordinary and elasticated ties are available.

Fleeces in red for outside wear are available.

Sweatshirts in the school colour (red), white P.E. T-shirts and fleeces may be ordered each term.

ALL ITEMS OF CLOTHING SHOULD BE CLEARLY MARKED WITH YOUR CHILD’S NAME.

JEWELLERY: For safety reasons, earrings, bracelets, rings and necklaces, pendants and other items of jewellery must not be worn at school. If girls wear stud earrings, it is on the understanding that parents are fully responsible in the event of accidents occurring from the wearing or loss of studs in school. Sleepers are not to be worn for school.

Due to the very nature of boy’s playground games, for safety reasons we do not allow boys to wear any form of earring.
